Rangkaian di dalam dot matrix 5x7 untuk common anoda dan common catoda adalah sbb:
Untuk menyalakan dot matrix ini dengan cara menyalakan satu per satu
pada setiap kolomnya atau lebih keren disebut dengan metode scanning.
Supaya karakter yang ditampilkan pada dot matrix dapat terlihat utuh
maka proses scanning ini harus berlangsung dengan sangat cepat.saya akan memberikan contoh runing text menggunakan dot matrik 5 x 7, pertama siap kan komponen sebagai berikut :
1. gerbang IC not 2 biji
2. ATmega8535 serta sistem minimumnya
3. LED Dot Matrix 5 x 7 8 biji
4. IC register 74HC595 5 biji
